To say that the year 2020 has shaken the world up would be an understatement that nobody would dare make! Everything from the way in which we live, work, play, and travel has changed. This has left us in a very delicate position where we are constantly wondering whether we are doing the right thing or not. There is so much uncertainty all around that it takes a lot of determination to pick up the courage and face life head-on. In a precarious situation such as this, insurance is certainly quite far from your mind; though, it should be the foremost thing. Knowing the details of Medicare supplement plans that have found their way from 2020 to 2021 would be the only way you can learn to cope with the possible health scares that could crop up in this pandemic-filled environment.
January 1, 2020 – An Important Date
This date is important for more than one reason. Firstly, the Medigap or supplement plan which is sold to anyone who is newly eligible for Medicare, cannot cover the Part B deductible. So, if there is a company that promises you otherwise, please do not get taken in. As a result of this, Plans F and C are not in any way available to those who are newly eligible for Medicare on or before the date mentioned here – January 1, 2020. If by some chance you have already been covered by Plan C or F before this date, then you can keep the plan as it is. If this is confusing, please talk to one of our reps on our toll-free number.
Be Prepared For Additional Costs
As the name suggests, a Medigap exists to fill in the gaps that exist in your existing Medicare. You cannot hope to get a supplement plan if you do not already have a Medicare which covers Plan or Part A and B. The supplement plan covers anything that you are not able to get under your original plan and hence you need to be careful that you are not paying any undue amount.
Choosing the right plan helps you to lead your life peacefully without any stress. The pandemic has caused widespread changes in insurance rules too. Keeping track of the regulations in the insurance sector for 2020 and 2021 will certainly point you in the right direction.
